… The Current Volume focuses on a wide range of topics that are relevant to the field of Bantu linguistics covering Bantu languages that are mainly spoken in Southern Africa. A good number of contributions discuss the two main Bantu languages spoken in Zimbabwe, Shona and Ndebele. Other Bantu languages that are discussed in this volume are: Ciwandya (spoken in Malawi and Tanzania) and Cisena (spoken in Malawi and Mozambique) in Mtenje’s study; Chichewa (spoken in Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe) in Mchombo’s study; Lilima and Nambya (spoken in Zimbabwe) as Western Shona-Nyai in Chebanne’s study: Setswana (spoken in Botswana) in Otlogetswe’s study in Silozi (spoken in Zambia, Namibia and Botswana) in Lubinda’s study and finally, a selection of Bantu, Khoesan, Cushitic, Benue Congo and Kwa languages in Batibo’s contribution. In total, some 25 African languages are studied in this volume. In addition all linguistic sub-disciplines are discussed in this volume. …
